Otago Pinot Barrel is our first release of whisky distilled through the stills at the distillery in Sandyford Street, Christchurch. Aged 3 ½ years in ex Otago Pinot Noir barrels, sourced from Maude Wines in Wanaka and prepared and charred ourselves. This reddish-amber whisky delivers a fruity aroma and a smooth yet complex and rewarding flavour profile.
A uniquely New Zealand whisky aged in iconic New Zealand wine barrels, Otago Pinot Barrel is set to become a mainstay of the Divergence family.
Aromas of ripe cherry, hot cross bun, fig, blackberry, charred oak, chocolatey malt and vanilla greet the nose. The flavour follows with cherry, black currant, raisins, vanilla, and baking spices, backed by sweet malt and soft oak tannins.
