100% New Zealand Single Malt Whisky aged four and a half years in 50 and 100 litre virgin French oak barrels. With a fully grain to glass story, the new make spirit is made from 100% Canterbury grown and malted barley. It is mashed, fermented and double pot still distilled, then aged more than four years in 50 and 100 litre virgin French oak barrels in Christchurch NZ.

Toffee, chocolate, oak with soft floral undertones on the nose. Oak, dark caramel, dark cocoa, new leather, creamy tannin, floral and anise on the palate. Rich chocolate and oak finish.

Otago Pinot Barrel is our first release of whisky distilled through the stills at the distillery in Sandyford Street, Christchurch. Aged 3 ½ years in ex Otago Pinot Noir barrels, sourced from Maude Wines in Wanaka and prepared and charred ourselves. This reddish-amber whisky delivers a fruity aroma and a smooth yet complex and rewarding flavour profile.

A uniquely New Zealand whisky aged in iconic New Zealand wine barrels, Otago Pinot Barrel is set to become a mainstay of the Divergence family.

Aromas of ripe cherry, hot cross bun, fig, blackberry, charred oak, chocolatey malt and vanilla greet the nose. The flavour follows with cherry, black currant, raisins, vanilla, and baking spices, backed by sweet malt and soft oak tannins.

A marriage of whisky aged in Australian and New Zealand ex-Port barrels. As far as we know the first and only New Zealand Port Barrel aged whisky to be bottled. Stone fruit, apple, strawberry, creamy vanilla and malted, spiced fruitcake on the nose. Fresh plum, light malty caramel and sweet ripe raspberries on the palate with a medium chocolate hazelnut finish.

Virgin French Oak (46%) - NZ Single Malt Whisky aged over ive and a half years in small, 50 and 100 litre, virgin French oak barrels. Toffee and milk chocolate, oak/wood and soft floral undertones on the nose. Oily, oak, dark caramel, dark cocoa, new leather, creamy tannin, floral and anise on the palate. Long, bright and fruity finish.

A note about our wax cork covers:

Divergence Whisky is a craft product. We are hands on, every step of the way, including the bottling process. Each bottle of Divergence is artfully hand dipped in hot wax to provide a final layer over each corkseal.

Wax is an organic substance. It softens in the heat and contracts in the cold or air conditioning. Your wax top may be cracked or scuffed or slightly imperfect. This is perfectly normal. It does not effect the cork sealing of the whisky in any way. It is, in fact, the mark of a truly hand crafted product.
